Ohh! Me so happy... Me happy long time!

Ow! My Balls!
So Meg is doing well, and I guess that I am doing ok. I am debating whether I need to go on to sleep, or eat something. Probably sleep. I have had The Ladybug Picnic stuck in my head for a few days, ever since it was bumper music on NPR, the bastards. Eh. I meant to start a post earlier, but then I got busy and forgot. I did go play trivia with Harry tonight (last night?), and he brought his gf. He's talking about marrying her, which I think is stupid, but whatever. He is only doing it so that she can get his insurance.
...did I ever mention what Harry's gf does? She's a chat line girl. Yep. No, seriously. Actually, there's decent money to be had (in relative terms) ...just no insurance.
butsoanyway.
So I was watching another of the twenty-eight billion televisions they have hanging off everything there, and within minutes, I was almost falling out of my seat laughing; there's this television show, Wipeout, that I'd never seen before tonight. It reminds me of Ow! My Balls!.
No, srsly. This is a completely ridiculous show. Someone had turned on the closed captioning, but in Spanish -- so I spent half the show thinking that it was a Spanish-language show, then I realised it was on ABC. Well, the sound was off (or unable to be heard over the music), and I was paying most of my attention to NTN. Harry's gf kept telling me that it was I Survived a Japanese Game Show (ummm...BBQ???), and she thought my joke about Ow! My Balls! was stupid...but then again, I suppose she is entitled to take that personally.
Oh, I crack me up. Butsoanyway.
This show is PAINFUL. Honestly. It seems that the strategy of most contestants involved falling face-first into water, foam, and padded pylons. Ow. I am honestly just not believing that this is an actual show.

When I thought it was in Spanish, I was 'translating' the show in between trivia questions (I speak little-to-no Spanish) into a derivative of Python's Upper Class Twit of the Year, giving Kevin 'Nigel' Incubator-Jones an IQ of 2.5 (something showed up on the text as 2.5), and a head full of 'guapo' (sounds like 'guano' to me!). Then it occurred to me -- this would be an awesome way to decide who gets to be President! It's so...American. I think I am going to submit my suggestion to something. There's even space enough in the schedule to let Hillary come back and try her luck at jumping over inflated pool floats in the shape of flamingos and alligators.
I don't know if this show is a good thing or not, but...it is definitely entertaining. In one of those meta-entertaining ways that I am sure most aren't getting -- just us. Snort. This country is getting stupid. Really.
I especially liked the stick figures they drew for recaps -- that was awesome.

I have a new time-waster
Ok...now back to work. I really want toast right now. Toast...mmmmmm!

Damnation, but this place is noisy.
money to place a bet (illegal or not, we're at a new bar this year,
and they're letting a couple of guys here do it), and SchmuckMan's
handwriting was so unreadable that one of the guys taking bets (also
customers) had to come back to our table twice...sigh. Whatever they
are betting is convoluted enough that I didn't follow -- one is a
straight-out bet, and the other is the weird one, but whatever... A
bunch of people at our table did it, and I know Harry's short on
money, so what the hell.
Anyway, at least this year I'm not the only girl, cos Meg came. Yay.
My prediction is Pats, though I'm not saying who I'm *for*.
kthxbai
**update**
So Harry won the minor straightforward bet, 'cos he knew I was (along with everyone else) favouring The Patriots, and so he just HAS to be different. But he lost on the other, ridiculously complex bet, and that one (naturally) both cost and was worth more. Le sigh.
:-) But I *am* happy NY won.
Ok, now on to funny stuffs...

I hear weasels!
Halloween was great; I went over to a friend's and watched horror movies. Now I have this weekend 'off', but the stuff that I wanted to do is *next* weekend, so I have to find a way to talk Harry into going to this cat festival our rescue group is contributing to (after we get this over with, next is Speuterfest 2007…though I have been given no firm date yet). Plus, Meg's out of town at some tournament in (I think) Biloxi that she is doing well in (last I was messaged).
Right now, I am watching Intimate Power on (naturellement) Cinemax. What god-awful crap. I hate watching things like this alone, 'cos I have so damn much fun making fun of movies like this. It is so awful, it's *fabulous*! Everyone is wearing these fake moustaches à la early porn movies, and it is so drama-ridden I am having a hard time clearing my eyes of tears from my hysterical laughter. I need a MST3K-like show of my own. Seriously.
Especially funny was the part where F Murray Abraham (who is the Sultan) calls for Aimee (who is the requisite demure French virgin girl) to go shtup him, and after making muchly with the 'yes/no/maybe/sometimes' (think Harlequin Romances at their WORST) where Aimee vacillates between killing herself to escape such an ignominious fate (all these heroines *always* have potentially ignominious fates – I think the term is probably one of the most over-used stock phrases in the genre) and going ahead and doing the deed using some lame justification like not wanting Tulip – the head harem guy (who is a story in himself; I cannot decide who is copying whom between Tulip and Arsenio Hall's Semi in Coming to America) – to get all killt-n-stuff. And all this yes/no/maybe/sometimes vacillation takes place in the span of about five minutes. You know – as those internal debates always do with us girls. Ummm…yeah. And then, within the span of one lame-assed speech by F Murray Sultan, Aimee changes her mind and shtups him anyway. Cos F Sultan Murrayham is just enchanting like that. Yeah. Because it is important to F Sultan Murrayham that Aimee wants him for *him*, not 'cos if she doesn't do It he is going to have her all killt-n-stuff. Which, of course, she does do. It, I mean. What girl wouldn't, you know?
This was so very clearly written by a man. Snort.
And during all this, *I* am thinking that a more accurate portrayal would have F Sultan yapping on about the natural inferiority of womenfolk or somesuch whilst Aimee gets unceremoniously dumped out of a rolled-up carpet and goes nattering on about how she hears weasels and sees racoons in birthday hats and entertains herself by making vapour-trail hands, then the sex lasts two minutes and she is tossed back into the harem on her tuchas to come down off the drugs.
Now we see why I am not asked to write soft-core porn for Cinemax. Sigh.
Butsoanyway.
I was just messaged by Meg, who said that if she takes Moneymaker out of this tournament, she gets a trip to the Playboy Mansion. Ok, that is too funny. Sexist much, Poker People? He is at her table right now (or was and will be after the break, I don't know), and told someone else (the rest of the table is male) that Meg is the only one he could try to run a bluff on 'cos she was the only one who would not call just to get the trip. Ha.
Anyway, I need to finish up some drafts from the past few weeks since I have today free; the way the past month has gone, I have done little but start one post after another and then abandon it. Grr. I am still doing three jobs, and that may not change until December. I can try to move to a consultancy position on one, but not the one that I *want* to do that on. I have not decided what I want to do. Again, grr.

Gah; it actually *is* a jungle out there.
Well, they leave out the 'L', and say 'Notice', only they are saying it like they are having some serious adenoid issues -- more like 'no-diss'. Sometimes I think we should have gotten the other one, just so I do not have to pretend as if it did not drive me crazy. Blow your freaking nose and speak clearly. Fack.
Butsoanyway.
Take a look at my box!
[box to come; Blogger won't let me load pics]
I am like The Bad Doctor in that KiTH skit...I ask for things, and they give them to me; this is awesome. Sometimes I love Job 2. I am thinking of asking for Mikrosil next. I have wanted to play with Mikrosil for *years*, I just have to think of why on god's earth I would actually *need* it.
Hmmm.
But back to my point of this taking forever and a day; thank freaking god that I found where Windows Movie Maker will display *hundredths* of a second, or else I would be even LONGER without sleep than I am going to be as it is (and I am not going to get to actually sleep until Saturday night as things stand...BWAAH!!) to correctly categorise it...now for almost two days straight. I have like, lost the ability to see straight. This is extremely upsetting to me, 'cos I *want* to see straight; I am taking this...erm...opportunity (do you like how I have re-framed this to be positive? Cool, iddnit?) to catch up on all twenty-six million episodes of Monk that I have never gotten to see but still buy 'cos I have a crush on Ted Levine (Nooo, not *just*because of SotL; quit talking to Meg. Though if you are having the same 'nuh-uh!' moment some others have had when it comes up, you can refresh your memory here. Or catch Ted *and The Groundskeepers' song here {awesome}. The poster of this clip disturbs me in spite of my partial agreement {comment translation below; it is in Portugese}. It really is that he is *that* unbelievably awesome an actor. ...as well as sexy.) that simply defies description; the things I want to do to him are illegal in at least six states. After Monk, I am moving on to view all of Crime Story, maybe.
I know...I need therapy; I have all this crap to do, and here I am in heat. Being on the Pill always causes me to be constantly turned on; someone *please* explain that one to me, 'kay? I have been wondering about that one for near to the entirety of my fertile life so far. And it has nothing to do with so-called 'safety'; first off, you *aren't* 'safe', and second, it has nothing to do with whether I am in a relationship or out of one. On Pill = in heat constantly, off Pill = normal; sometimes on, sometimes off.
I think there is some hormonal crap that happens, and not just the not ovulating thing. Seriously. I almost wish it made me sick, like several other girls I know. Know how many people I know that stay constantly horny when they take the Pill? One. Me. And it is not listed under side effects; I looked. This is actually one of the reasons I quit it a while ago. Pfft. Sigh.
Butsoanyway. Back to this stuff.
And I am NOT EVEN STARTED on the verbal behaviours for the bulk of it; that will be all day tomorrow. I have been holding off on that 'cos the other stuff is the hard(er) part, and listening will interfere with my Leland Stottlemeyer-watching. I am now kicking myself for not having used something for audio that I could cart home with me in the past so that I could maybe be familiar with it and schtuff. As things stand, I will just hit Pause in WMM and log start/change/stop. Fuck the fancy-schmancy shit.
I even let Kate take a huge part and do it, and I was going to confirm, but I am sososososososooooooo tempted not to log-confirm that I am going to have to maybe nap and let some morality leak back into my brain. Sigh. I am inclined to do Very Bad Things right now, and not just to ol' Leland.
Damnation...talk about ageing well! What's this show about, anyway? ;-)
No, you are not the only ones who think I am weird.
.
Comment translation:
Brilhante atuação de Ted Levine em Silêncio dos Inocente.
Brilliant acting of Ted Levine in Silence of Lambs.
[Agreed; better than Foster and Hopkins combined, and I'll fight anyone who says otherwise; his entire performance aside, that sniffl'y thing he does when Brooke first says 'I want my mommy'? Besides being Incredibly Cute, that's called ACTING. We're all ruined by this half-assed 'I'm going to play the same character over, and over, and over...and that character happens to be a lot like me!' shit that goes on anymore that actual acting gets ignored. He also has an fantastic way of conveying many simultaneous emotions towards Monk, but if I get into everything else he has done, we will be here all day]
Buffalo Bill realmente rouba a atenção, apagando completamente a ranhenta Jodie Foster (tem mesmo cara de ranhentinha).
Buffalo Bill really steals the attention, putting out completely the ranhenta Jodie Foster (it has even expensive of ranhentinha).
[Agreed again, and I don't even know what a ranhenta is; I can only assume a ranhentinha is an even worse one]
Pena que o herói do filme morre no final.
Too bad that the hero of the movie dies in the end.
[I am so totally not going to get into the hero/anti-hero/antagonist/protagonist pedantry with you, 'cos it may be a translation error. Ask your English teacher, or your Portugese Lit. teacher. Anyway, assuming you mean 'hero' as in an allied person(a) for whom you were rooting (try reading the book; pointless!), you are officially creeping me out. However, if you -- like me -- just hate seeing a perfectly good fictional hot guy get snuffed, then we are in agreement. Plus Ted should have gotten *much* more camera time.]
Formaria uma bela dupla com o Dr. Lecter he he he..
It would form a double beauty with Dr. Lecter he he he..
[Okay, *now* you are creeping me out; when I start having fantasies like that, I am switching to Ortho TriCyclen Lo or something. Sheesh. Hopkins is like, almost as old as my father, fer chrissake*. ;-) ]
*It may bear mentioning again that my parents had me when they were much older than 'traditional' parents (which seems to be younger these days than ever before, but I am 'supposed' to be about twenty [or more] years older than I am), a fact that leaves many confused when I say things like 'Hopkins is like, almost as old as my father, fer chrissake!' trying to be funny. I mean, he was really a cutie in Audrey Rose**, but the humour is in my selection of the age difference over the qualities of the characters (Buffalo Bill and Lecter***). See? Having old parents really handicaps my comedy style. ;-)
**I only know that 'cos Mom likes that movie (well, more correctly, she saw it with my father or friends in the theatre, and wanted to see it again when it came on television, probably cable), and I watched it with her when I was a kid (when it came on television; my father would *never* have let me watch something like that in the theatre, and probably not on tv if he had known about it). I have no idea how old I was, but I do remember that I thought Hopkins' character was creepy as hell then, like some sick stalker, and it terrified me that her parents would not intervene, and I remember being extremely frightened when Hopkins interacted with Audrey Rose, especially when she cooperated and calmed down for him; for some reason that was Quite Disturbing to me, and I completely misremembered it until I saw it on cable as an adult. At that point it just struck me as a largely silly sixties-tinged movie about reincarnation dumbness, but yes, Hopkins was cute. It is just kind of icky if I say that now, since he is almost as old as my father.
***Let's not play games; I would totally do Bill and Lecter together any day of the week. We all know it.
:-D
Sigh. Enough funny. Back to work.

Some people hustle pool, some people hustle cars…
Greetings, greetings fellow star gazers!
Hee…I crack me up.
Tonight is the Perseid meteor shower; I usually do try to get at least a glimpse in, but I have a full 24-hour day tomorrow, so I may give it a skip. :-D Or I could make a video and play it back *next* weekend, when I expect to have more time.
Ok, kidding about that.
But on a space-related note, we have a new galaxy! I think we should name it after me. Or Romeo. Or Squooshable. I really love the way that they make this sound almost corporate, I mean, check this quote out:
"When this merger is complete, this will be one of the biggest galaxies in the universe," said study team member Kenneth Rines of the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics.
Heavens! He makes it sound as if we can expect the arrival of a new big-box galaxy, like a merger between Wal-Mart and Target. Screw Earth; I am looking into it as the future site of my Mall of the Universe. I wonder if they need any cats there…
I was supposed to drive out to visit my father today – I had semi-promised to do so – but I frankly do not feel like the drive right now; I am enjoying being at home and just vegetating and spending time with my cats, to be honest. And watching bad movies. And believe me, there are some bad movies out there.
Right at the moment, it is 8mm. I actually feel bad about making fun of 8mm, or anything with Nicholas Cage in it, 'cos Nurse Betty's such a huge, drooling, lust-filled fan of Cage's (which is really funny in a way, 'cos although NB claims to not see much of a resemblance, in my estimation, her husband looks very similar to Cage; I tease Betty that she does not actually lust after Nic Cage, she just picked someone who looks like Mr Betty cos she's in love with her husband), but 8mm is…well…slightly bad in some places. And a little hokey, acting-wise at times. And kind of like Reefer Madness for the BDSM set…but whatever. I went with some friends to see it back when it was in the playing in theatres (can you believe that was about *eight* years ago? It may not be a full eight, since I think I remember that is was still slushy and cruddy outdoors, but still…that is a Long Damn Time), and I have to admit that I was laughing (albeit to myself) in several places. I love Betty, and I am sure Cage is a nice guy, but his acting is, well…not all that great at times. Like a lot of the time. Put the bunny back in the box…uhhh…oh, don't get me started. Butsoanyway. Ancodia's Golden Rule was fully-formed that very night in fact, and I do not believe in all these years here I have ever shared Ancodia's Golden Rule™. Listen up; this is important:
Ancodia's Golden Rule™
If there is plastic on the floor and you're not in on it, leave.
I even wrote a blues song about it with harmonica accompaniment to make it easier for Young Minds to remember. Doo-de-doo-do…ba-ba-ba-ba..
I am sure you get the idea.
And really, this is an important principle as long as one remembers that we are speaking about all manner of drop cloths, not just plastic. It may not be bad; it may not be ominous; you may be only being tricked into helping a friend paint their condo; regardless, leave. Seriously. You can see violations of Ancodia's Golden Rule™ all over, and no good ever comes of it.
Butsoanyway.
In a never-ending effort to get me to prove I love her more than my father, I just – as in this second; I had to leave mid-post – got back from having dinner with Mom; she wanted to take me to this Mom and Pop pizza parlour-type place by her home, and it was not too bad. :-) She spoke with her older sister today and was, thusly, full of family gossip. My psychotic televangelist cousin is doing well, and his Daughter Whom I Cannot Stand ('cos she is a fake hoor) has moved to another state in the Northwest under the guise of finishing school, but I guarantee she is still doing her ministry schtick (promoted by my cousin, she thinks that she is quite the little ministerette; I'll eat my hat should anyone else ever agree that she is that great). But my psychotic cousin does not take care of his mother at *all* in the sense of looking after her in her old age, making sure she is at least OKAY on a daily basis, and that is something I find nauseating; my aunt has her issues (as does farking everyone on Mummers' side of the family), but she has never done anything overtly bad. Mom and I decided we would get her something really nice this Christmas, even though Mom still blames her for my grandmother's death, saying my eldest aunt *murdered* her mother.
Sigh. This is, I think, a story for another day; I am too tired.
Butsoanyway.
So I am home now, fed, and all caught up on gossip from the maternal side of the family. I decided to finish this post off and send a few pre-meeting emails before going to sleep, and so I turned on the TV and My Cousin Vinnie is on; it just got to the part where the owl is outside the cabin, and Squooshable and Cookie actually sat down and started watching the movie when the owl screeched! :-) Too cute! Cookie also likes all the movies in the Star Wars series; I think she likes Chewbacca, or wants to be Princess Leia, or something.
I also spoke with Meg, finally, as I was driving home; she says that she is on a huge losing streak again, poor girl. I bought a pendant for her that has a Chinese dragon on it; the dragon represents Squooshable (to Meg and I, not the Chinese ;-) ). I told her that if she had not been in such a hurry to leave, she would have her new lucky pendant. Sigh. I am *constantly* trying to find something lucky for her, though and it never works out. Squooshable actually *did* pick this one, though; I had ShopNBC on, and it came up on clearance and Mr Squooshable started Mrrp!ing. In all reality, I think he was Mrrp!ing at himself, or a shadow, or the tree outside, or Rhett Butler, but I told Meg he asked me to buy it for her because as bad a poker player as she is, she needs help!
I can only say things like that to her over the phone; otherwise, she hits me.
Ok…it is getting late, and I have way too much to do tomorrow. Whee. I guess I could have seen the shower, after all.

Ancodia At Her Shallowest!
Meg did not win her HOE tourney, but she did Quite Respectably. I have been teasing her that she is in the Top ## HOEs in the world.
…that’s Hold ‘Em,
That being said, I am going to have a suck-ass time at work tomorrow; all of our Powers That Be are off to a conference in
Knowing how much I *adore* Thierry Mugler (even though I was at first underwhelmed by Alien, I have come to like it…though never as much as Angel. Ever.), an old friend directed me to this site (Warning: NSFW. Or Small Eyes. Or pets.). I think he might possibly be wearing fugly Crocs (or at best socks and sandals, as one comment suggested, though I thought ‘Crocs!’ when I first saw it). Hold me.
Okay, what he has done to himself is ghastly (his face specifically; whether that is from ‘wrinkle-fillers’ or HGH as some comments have suggested, it is sad), though by all reports he is a phenomenally kind, nice man, and I will go to my grave still believing that he is an absolute genius, style-wise.
Well, except for that footwear. Bad, bad choice. Meh. But like I should talk, I guess. One thing that *did* make me happy is that it sounds like Mugler is re-opening his design house, at least in some capacity this Fall. I will wait to be actually happy, though; one, I am not completely fashion-absorbed; I just find some aspects fascinating. Two, I am sure it will somehow get mucked up, cos I am a depressive realist.
Butsoanyway.
Romeo is doing ok; he sits a lot and purrs a lot. He seems to be largely happy-ish, and no, I really do not think his purring is anything other than happiness; he does not sit and purr for No Reason, he sits and purrs when he is beside me and I am petting him, or have been, or have my hand on him. I just got up to get him a half a Tagamet, and he went on and put himself to bed. He is a good Measle.
Everyone else is ok; My brother and his family left to visit his wife’s family on Thursday. We had several nice visits, though. I went with Mummers to see No Reservations Saturday night because one of her friends cancelled on her, and then we had a not-too-bad Mexican dinner. The movie was completely formulaic, but it was cute. Call me crazy, but What’shisname’s hair (the guy from Thank You For Smoking) was distractingly atrocious (did they not want to have two dark-headed lead actors, or something?). The cut was bad enough (it looked like he was trying to grow out a modified Carol Brady shag!!), but that colour job was pretty bad as well (in some shots looking like the Fakest-Looking Highlights on Earth), and Catherine Zeta-Jones called more than a few of Meg Ryan’s facial expressions into play (or maybe I just like Meg Ryan ‘cos she reminds me so of *my* Meg that I am seeing her everywhere). And he wore Crocs. Orange ones. Très hideux. But a cute movie. If I told you the set-up, you could tell me the ending, though. Wait for video and save your money.
I have to get to sleep; Meg arrives early tomorrow morning, but my neck is *killing* me. I am taking one hour of that soporific that is Rock of Love with Bret Michaels; those are some nasty, scary womenfolk. Some of them are strippers. Shocker. But they do get bonus points for correctly pronouncing (though not for *using*; that was a ghey idea) ‘plethysmograph’, and I think
What is really scary is that if I were to give Chrissy (cat rescuing Chrissy) a full frontal lobotomy and a drinking problem and then let the Ladies of Skank Central make her over, she could be a double for Tiffany. I do not know if that is a compliment, or not; I am not going to share this with Chrissy, 'cos I love her.
Why, oh why do I get into these shows? Why? I do not even LIKE Bret Michaels, and actually had no idea who he was – Meg had to tell me. A ‘Rock God’? VH1, quit trying to make me laugh. And I could not name a song by Poison if my life depended upon it. Well, before last weekend, when Meg and I watched RoL, and she told me that song that was playing was Poison (she could not think of one before that either), which only makes sense, seeing as it was on RoL. It was that ‘don’t need nothing but a good time’ song (whatever it is called…Good Time, maybe?), but as god is my witness, had I been asked for the artist’s name prior to that, my response would have been something along the lines of ‘How in the fuck should I know?’, followed by some guesses like Kiss, Bon Jovi, Ratt, or Quiet Riot. Blecch. All those songs SOUND THE SAME. HELLO.
And I like Rodeo (out of a very wanting field) best, but she needs to Botox that neck. Please. For the love of Elvis. Seriously.
Oh, I have to quit watching this crap.
Though I Hate My 30’s looks cute, as does one other show that I cannot remember right now, and do not have the time to watch, anyway.
Well, RoL is ending (why on Earth do some of these girls have tattoos from head to toe? Ugh!), and I *have* to get some sleep. Seriously.
Thus ends my Ancodia At Her Shallowest Post. We should do this more often. ;-)

Strike out...
out, i saw not a one. I will just try again, i guess. I am trying to
not be depressed, so i am watching A Boyfriend for Christmas... and
i'm getting bummed out. Bwaah!
**updated**
I just got online to play trivia and make sure that I understood this correctly:
Hallmark Channel Has Run Out of Ideas for Sappy TV Movies
I need to think up a script idea fast and sell it.

Yet more Holiday Sap!
Funny, hmmm? :-)
Ok; now back to our regularly scheduled post in which I whine not once (past this point) about how bad I feel, or how much stuff I have to do before I can quit doing. This is a break.
Of inspiration
Is at the heart, ha, ha!
Of all creation
Right at the start
Of everything that's new,
One little spark
Lights up for you!
Two tiny wings
Eyes big and yellow
Horns of a steer
What a lovable fellow!
From head to tail,
He's royal purple pigment
And there, Voila!
You've got a Figment!

This is pure Christmas Awesomeness!
A Season for Miracles
Off Season
Thank you, sappy-assed Hallmark Channel! You truly have saved my Holiday Season, and you have inspired me to make up my own list of holiday movies. I just haven't decided whether it will be a list of Best Holiday Movies, or Best Worst Holiday Movies. I'm a bit of a newbie to BWHMs, so I may just make a list of BHMs for now. If I haven't spiralled down into a holiday funk and killed myself by next year, I may be up to tackle BWHMs, thanks solely to your tutelage.

What I want to know is how you do it? How do you do it, Hallmark Channel? How do you manage to keep coming up with new plots which revolve around what is essentially the same story over and over? Single lady, usually with kids, meets guy; they fall in love, but they don't realise it (or at least one of them doesn't). She has more problems than one could shake a stick at. No, rilly--you couldn't. You'd shake your stick, and the problems, feeling there was safety in numbers, would just look at you and say, 'whuut?'.
But back to our recipe: Then chaos ensues. There is at least one misunderstanding, usually more, and then it all gets worked out just in time for a blissful Christmas Eve. And all the while, at least the lady or the gent (and sometimes both) are displaying enough behavioural problems (e.g., pathological lying, theft, failure to conform to the demands of reality) that were it up to me, I would remand them to some psychiatric hospital for observation. Or at least tell my son or daughter to steer clear of them. And despite her obvious emotional imbalance(s) Our Heroine doesn't even sleep with Our Hero. I mean, one would *think* that as screwed up as she is, she'd be all over him like white on rice, but no. Our Heroine may be FUBAR, but she's no ho. She may be a widowed, unemployed, homeless felon, fleeing from The Law and hiding out in FAO Schwartz over Christmas with her one (possibly two, but no more than three) cute-as-a-button child(ren), but hooker she is not! And if Bob The Store Manager wants to get anywhere with her, well...you're just going to have to put a ring on her finger, bub!
Or Bob, rather.
Butsoanyway.
And it is the same story, over and over.
And no--I am decidedly not paying a left-handed compliment; I truly and sincerely admire that ability, much as I admire the authors over at Harlequin and Silhouette, not that I can bear to read them. But I do stand in absolute awe--it is really, truly, astonishingly amazing, and if I were only similarly talented, I'd spend a lot less time making my imagination brain cells work overtime. Again--not being sarcastic, just making an observation.

Best worst holiday movies EVER
blushing, cringing, hiding-your-face-with-a-throw-pillow
embarrassing. And to that end, i present my nomination for Best Worst
Holiday Movie Ever:
the BWHM team of Single Santa and its sequel, Meet the Santas.
Steve Guttenberg's Ho, Ho, Hos are just downright CREEPY. This has
to be the hokiest movie in the world. Like EVER.
